MLB DFS Weather Tuesday May 24

Brief Summary: (6:50 pm update)

****Showers look to miss NYC****

PPD threat:  none   Delay: STL(slight), MIN (start), TEX (slight), NYY (slight)

Thunderstorms have fired near MIN. Here are the radar and simulated radars for 7, 8 and 9 PM:

**The tstorm west of MIN has weakened a bit just as the models said they should. Makes me optimistic that they will be able to play****

Thunderstorms are forecast to weaken as they approach the Twin Cities but should be passing through around scheduled 1st pitch. A DELAYED START TO THE GAME LOOKS POSSIBLE TO EVEN LIKELY. PPD LOOKS LOW, THREAT OF ANOTHER DELAY LOW AS WELL

Monday, May 23, 2016

MLB DFS Weather Monday May 23

Brief Summary (6:55 PM EDT Update):

PPD/Delay threats: WSH and MIN

** Last frame of the radar in DC shows rain lightening up as it heads towards them. Makes more me optimistic that they try to play**

Current radars:

Take a look at the 2 respective radar by clicking MIN and DC

Right from the 2 radars, you can see it is going to rain in DC and the rain trails all the way back to near Lancaster, PA. There is almost a 100% certainty that is will rain at some point in the game. The question is PPD? Delay?

BASED ON WHAT i SEE HERE, DC IS A HIGH DELAY RISK AND A MODERATE PPD RISK

MLB DFS Weather Monday May 9

Brief Summary (Updated 7:00 PM):

**************MIN Becomes Riskier  *****************

*****Expecting an In-Game Delay/Stoppage in CHC**********

******CIN Looks Fine to ME**************

A front will be just to the north of PIT at CIN. Thus, the showers and thunderstorms will be around the region. Current radar followed by the 7 PM, 8 PM and 9 PM (respectively) simulated radars for the area:

Sunday, May 8, 2016

Hot Summer May Lead to an Offensive Explosion

As a strong El Nino weakens, the weather across the Lower 48 will change. In much of the East, a hot summer is in store. Warm temperatures lead to a decrease in an air density, which in turns leads to a batted baseball to be able to travel further.

3 Month Forecast from NOAA for May, June and July

MLB DFS Weather Sunday May 8

If you want no risk, avoid Cincinnati

MLB DFS Weather Saturday May 7

                                Rather quiet out there tonight

 Brief Summary (6:15 PM EDT):

OAK at BLT will NOT have a repeat of last night as there are just a few showers around.
EXTREMELY LOW CHANCE OF A PPD, VERY LOW CHANCE OF ANY TYPE OF DELAY(S)

MIL at CIN will be affected by a weak system that will cause just a few showers or thunderstorms. SHOULD NOT BE A PPD; VERY LOW CHANCE OF AN IN-GAME DELAY

Both NYM at SD and TB at LAA will be played with a small risk, much like last night. While I do not anticipate any problems, I will keep an eye on the region. Simulated radar for this evening:

You can see that there SHOULD NOT be any problems but being these games are later starting than the others, there is a small amount of risk here. VERY LOW CHANCE OF PPD/DELAY(S)

 Good Hitting Environments:
-Unusual levels of humidity may make the 3 Cal. games play differently (batted balls carry better)

-Nice breeze blowing out to left for MIL at CIN

Poor Hitting Environments:
-OAK at BLT will be played with high air density (batted balls will not carry well)

OAK at BLT 7:05: SEE BRIEF SUMMARY ABOVE. Wind light and variable, which is a 5. Temps near 60 falling into the mid 50s. Air density is a 5 becoming a 4.

MLB DFS Weather Monday May 2nd

Rain to Clip CHC at PIT

Though much of the East and the Midwest continues to be damp, major problems are not expected around the MLB schedule tonight

Brief Summary (Updated 5:45 PM):

7 PM Simulated radar:

So not looking overly wet this evening.

SF at CIN and PHL at STL will see widely scattered showers tonight. Nothing that I am too concerned about right now but will keep an eye on the region. EXTREMELY LOW CHANCE OF A PPD, LOW CHANCE OF A DELAY

CHC at PIT has become more worrisome. Light rain makes a very close path to the city, just to their south. Even if it were to affect them, I would only expect it to cause a delay around 8 PM and that is the worst case scenario. EXTREMELY LOW CHANCE OF A PPD, LOW TO PERHAPS MODERATE CHANCE OF DELAY
