Brief Summary (Updated 12:30 PM): More Wet Weather for the Northeast
Current radar:
****VERY OPTIMISTIC THAT THEY WILL PLAY ALL THE GAMES IN THE NORTHEAST*****
****So if I am not worried abut a PPD anywhere, then we start thinking delay(s) for SP anywhere?
1 PM simulated radar:
Just by looking at where the rain is supposed to be at 1 PM, the place most likely to see a delay at some point looks to be PIT, then NYM, PHL and BOS. I would put the percentages of seeing a delay at 30%, 25%, 20% and 15% respectively*******************
More rain than I wanted to see in the models for MIL at NYM while rain on the current radar (above) is SLIGHTLY worrisome for CLE at BOS. Here is a peek at the simulated radar for 2 PM:
****I will keep an eye on these regions but right now LOW CHANCE OF A PPD OR OF ANY TYPE OF DELAY(S) FOR BOS AND NYM****
Much like we handled 2 cities above, let's try to forecast for the 2 PA cities of PHL and PIT below. Here are the simulated radars for 1 and 2 PM respectively:
We can see, both on radar and what is forecast on simulated radar, that the heavy rain shield has set up and will continue to be found west of PHL today. So while it will may damp and dreary with a few showers in PHL, I do not see a problem with them playing. LOW CHANCE OF A PPD; LOW TO MODERATE CHANCE OF ANY TYPE OF DELAY
PIT is a bit of a different story. They will be on the extreme western edge of a rain shield and cells of rain will reform and affect the western PA region. The steadiest of the rain should be just to their east but it is a close call.
Based on where the western edge of the rain has set up on radar and where it is expected to be based on computer models, I now expect them to be able to play this game.
In PIT: LOW CHANCE OF A PPD OR OF ANY TYPE OF DELAY(S)
***It is almost like you couldn't place he rain any better if you tried. All 4 games should play and I do not see too high of a chance of a delay in any locale***
