MLB DFS Weather Monday May 16

Brief Summary (Updated 6:25 PM):

*****Officially, the Red Sox at Royals game has been cancelled.**********

I am expecting a few showers for MIN at DET. Current radar:

Tweet from the Tigers: Tarp is on the field, but rain should pass and not effect start

Here is the simulated radar for 7 PM:

And 8 PM:

VERY LOW CHANCE OF PPD/LOW CHANCE OF ANY TYPE OF DELAY(S)

Good Hitting Environments:

-There will be a decent wind blowing out to right for CIN at CLE (though many DFS sites do not have this game as part of their slate)

-MIA at PHL will also see a boost given to balls hit to rightfield.

Poor Hitting Environment:

-Relatively chilly for ATL at PIT and for MIN at DET.

In the scales used below, a 1 greatly favors the pitcher while a 10 favors the batter. All Times EDT

CIN at CLE 6:10: Wind SW 8-16 mph which blows out to right. The wind is a 7. Temps near 60 falling into the mid 50s. Air density is a 4.

MIA at PHL 7:05: Wind SW 8-16 mph which blows out to right. The wind is a 7. Temps in the low 60s falling into the mid 50s. Air density is a 5 becoming a 4.

ATL at PIT 7:05: Wind SW less than 8 mph which blows from right to left. The wind is a 5. Temps near 60 falling into the low 50s. Air density is a 5 becoming a 4.

TB at TOR 7:07: The retractable roof will be closed due to cool temperatures.

MIN at DET 7:10: SEE BRIEF SUMMARY ABOVE. Wind SW 10-20 mph lessening to 6-12 mph which blows from right to left. The wind is a 5. Temps near 60 falling into the mid 50s. Air density is a 5 becoming a 4.

NYY at AZ 9:40: The retractable roof will be open. Wind W 8-16 mph which blows from right to left. The wind is a 5. Temps near 90 falling into the low to mid 80s. Air density is a 9.

TEX at OAK 10:05: Wind W 10-20 mph which blows out to right. The wind is an 8. Temps in the mid to upper 60s falling into the lower 60s. Air density is a 6 becoming a 5.

LAA at LAD 10:10: Wind WSW 8-16 mph which blows out to right. The wind is a 7. Temps in the mid to upper 60s falling into the low 60s. Air density is a 6 becoming a 5.

Special Brand New Section: Mark's DFS pick of the day:

With Detroit's best hitter (Miguel Cabrera) a much better hitter during the day than at night and with DET's propensity to strike out against RHP, I like Berrios from MIN as a sneaky SP. Plus, chilly temperatures may favor pitchers in this game.

  1. Unfortunate. ⅔ Innings pitched; -14.7 DK points. Golden Rule: Always fade a "sneaky" pick, for there is no such thing as "sneaky" in DFS. While 5% ownership might yield terrific fortune every so often, it never reflects 95% stupidity. Better luck tomorrow, and, hey, that's pretty much a lock. We all have these days.

  2. My new pick of the day did not work out too well Eric. Well, look on the bright side, I can only go up from here!
